The All-on-4 dental implants system gets its name to the very nature of the method, which consists of a screwed-on CAD-CAM designed dental prosthesis – the Nobel Procera Crown and Bridge or the Nobel Procera Hybrid Prosthesis (Sweden), with at least twelve teeth (bridge) fixed on each jaw, based only on four titanium implants.
The specific all on 4 dental implant protocol is internationally patented and is invented by Dr Paulo Malo with one of the best implant brands in the world – Nobel Biocare Implants from Sweden.
All on 4 Implant system contains 4 implants positioned in the jaw , 2 straight and 2 angulated with fixed 12-unit cad cam/ hybrid denture teeth set.
It is most viable and successful protocol for patients with resorbed ridges (less bone) , this technique avoids additional surgical procedures like sinus lifts, bone grafts and nerve repositioning. The technique effectively utilises the available bone and avoids vital structures like maxillary sinus in upper jaw and inferior alveolar nerve in lower jaw by angulating the posterior implant by 45 degrees
Either Immediately (at the same time an implant is placed) or after a period of healing, an abutment is attached to the implant. This is a device that “abuts” or joins the implant to a tooth form called a Crown, which replaces the tooth part you see in the mouth. It will hold a crown that the dental laboratory will fabricate. This is cemented or screwed onto the abutment to permanently keep it in place.
